Biomass Gasification Power Generation System

The OmniGNX Biomass Gasification Power Generation System (BGPS) is an advanced renewable energy solution that converts agricultural residues, forestry waste, and biomass by-products into clean and efficient electrical power. Suitable feedstocks include rice husks, wood chips, sawdust, branches, crop residues, corn stalks, wheat straw, cotton stalks, coconut shells, palm shells, bagasse, fruit shells, corncobs, and many other forms of biomass waste.

The system utilizes gasification technology to transform biomass into combustible producer gas (syngas), overcoming many of the challenges associated with direct biomass combustion, such as low fuel efficiency and feedstock variability. With its compact footprint and environmentally friendly operation, biomass gasification is recognized as one of the most effective methods of biomass utilization.

How the System Works

The OmniGNX Biomass Gasification Power Generation System operates through three key stages:

Biomass Gasification
Biomass feedstock is converted into combustible syngas through a controlled gasification process.

Syngas Purification
The producer gas is cleaned to remove impurities such as dust, tar, ash, and other contaminants, ensuring reliable and efficient operation of the power generation equipment.

Power Generation
The purified syngas is supplied to gas engines, where it is used as fuel to generate electricity. The high-temperature exhaust gas can also be recovered through waste heat systems to produce steam or hot water for industrial and commercial applications.

Gasifier Technology Options

OmniGNX offers four specialized biomass gasification technologies to suit different feedstocks and operating requirements:

  • CFBG – Circulating Fluidized-Bed Biomass Gasifier
  • UFBG – Updraft Fixed-Bed Biomass Gasifier
  • DFBG – Downdraft Fixed-Bed Biomass Gasifier
  • TFBG – Twin-Fire Fixed-Bed Biomass Gasifier

These systems support biomass power stations ranging from 50 kW to 20 MW, with modular configurations available from 50 kW to 2 MW per unit.

Biomass Gas Generator Sets

To complement its gasification technologies, OmniGNX offers biomass gas generator sets ranging from 50 kW to 1200 kW. These systems combine high-efficiency alternators with robust medium-speed gas engines and advanced engine control systems to deliver reliable, efficient, and cost-effective power generation.

Key Advantages

Fast Project Implementation
Most biomass power plants can be commissioned within 4–6 months after contract approval, enabling rapid deployment and faster returns on investment.

Low Capital Investment
The modular design minimizes equipment, civil construction, and installation costs, making projects more financially attractive.

Simple and Flexible Operation
The system primarily consists of a biomass gasifier and gas engine generator set, allowing straightforward operation, quick start-up and shutdown, and reduced operational complexity.

Clean and Sustainable Technology
Biomass is a renewable energy source that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The gasification process significantly lowers CO₂ and SO₂ emissions while maintaining low NOₓ levels due to controlled operating temperatures.

Excellent Economic Performance
The compact process design, reduced land requirements, and flexible plant capacities make biomass gasification one of the most cost-effective renewable power generation technologies available.

High Annual Operating Hours
Unlike solar, wind, or hydro systems that depend on environmental conditions, biomass power plants can operate continuously when fuel is available, achieving approximately 7,200–8,000 operating hours per year and enabling faster return on investment.
